User Configuration Information

This table describes the Configuration section of the user account record. The settings available depend on the user type.
Setting User Type Description
Client Client Managers The client organization that the manager works for.
Additional Views Client Managers/Suppliers The views enabled for the user. There are three views:
  • Approver - Used for approval routing.
  • Report Admin - Used to run reports.
  • Standard - Used for the standard manager view.

The data and functionally in these views depends on the permissions that are assigned to the user.

Access Type MSP (Admin/Client Services/Finance)/Client Managers/Suppliers/Workers Setting for user authentication in the application. For more information about this setting, see Access Type.
GUID Client Managers/Workers Manager name referenced by approval routing custom fields. For more information about approval routing, see Add an Approval Workflow.

This value can also in integrations, where the GUID value is the key value for the user record. For more information about integrations, contact your relationship manager.

External ID Client Managers/Workers Required for single sign on (SSO) integrations. See SSO Settings.

If SSO is not active, this field does not display.

Supervisor Client Managers The name and email adders of the client manager's supervisor in the organizational hierarchy. The supervisor record must exist in the VMS to be added.

If the client organization has enabled visibility along a reporting chain (Configuration > Settings > Configuration > Managers > Enable client organization hierarchy visibility), then this field is used to determine the reporting structure. If enabled, the client manager can view all requests/engagements and onboarding items for reports and reports of reports. This setting also affects visibility of data in reporting as well.

To view items, the client manager selects the View All Records setting on the applicable pages.
Note:
If this field is left empty, no reporting structure is defined.

If the client organization is using automatic reassignment of items for deactivated managers (Configuration > Settings > Configuration > Managers > Automatically reassign open items to the Supervisor, once the manager is deactivated), then the supervisor is automatically assigned. This includes managers for any of the roles, (hiring manager, survey manager, and so on).

Approval Amount Limit Client Managers The amount that a manager can approve for a requisition, engagement, or billing. Using the radio buttons, select from the following:
  • Maximum Amount - If you select this option, enter the maximum amount that a client manager can approve in the Enter max amount field.
  • Not Applicable - Client manager can approve any amount.

If currency conversion for an approval limit is enabled for approval workflows, then the approval amount is converted to the configured currency and compared to the amount in this field.

Operational Units Client Managers The operational units associated with the client manager.

Operational units might affect the supplier and approval options that a client manager has.

If you do not add any operational units for a client manager, the application defaults to the client organization.

Supplier Suppliers The name of the supplier organization. You cannot modify this value.

A supplier is configured at the client organization level, but supplier contracts are configured at the country level, which affects the options available to the client organization.

Supplier # Suppliers The application identification number for the supplier. You cannot modify this value.
Clients Suppliers The client organizations that the supplier has contracts for.
Enable Search View MSP (Admin/Client Services/Finance) Allows user to be searchable and be selected from lists.
