Staffing Engagements in the System

After filling a request with workers, the application creates an engagement. The engagement has the same request record details, but also contains additional financial details, and onboarding/offboarding configured for the client organization. This information is set by the MSP. The engagement does not start until the MSP edits the details.

These parameters are used to define how the worker enters time for the engagement (time cards), and the billing definitions for overtime, and so on. Billing information is first added to the engagement based on the agreement specification with the supplier. The engagement billing information is added based on the details defined in the request. If you need to modify these numbers because of a business need, you can edit the engagement fields.

If you have any additional pay rate parameters for a selected work period (shift differential), selecting the differential adds the defined values to the engagement. You can also edit these details before saving. For more information about defining shift differentials, see Shift Differential for an Hourly Work Period.

If you have set up purchase order (PO) functionality for funds tracking, you can add the PO number to the engagement in the Financials section. For more information about setting up this functionality, see Funds Tracking Configuration.

It is also important to note that worker custom fields and email alerts now appear for the engagement. You can add any relevant names and email addresses to the engagement.

A Tax Location section is added to the Position Details section when the Tax Calculation method (at the invoice option level) defined for the engagement is set to 'Wand' or 'Manual', or if the Tax Estimation Batch Approval setting on the invoice option is enabled. The Tax Location specifies the tax rates for the engagement. If you edit this section, you can change the location by selecting the Override Tax Location check box and use the drop downs to select the new location (required) and additionally enter the location postal code.

If you are using a batch billing approval process to estimate taxes and approve total amounts, configure the details on the engagement Batch Billing tab. For more information about setting up these details, see Configure Batch Settings on an Engagement.
