Whitespace GP Tracking

Note:
Whitespace GP Tracking is available exclusively to PRO Unlimited MSP users. The fields described on this page are not visible to client managers, workers, suppliers, or users from other MSP organizations.

Whitespace GP Tracking is a set of native fields that allow MSP users to record gross-profit tracking data against a requisition and keep that data current throughout the life of the placement. The fields appear in the Financials section of the request create, request detail, and engagement detail pages — but only when Whitespace GP Tracking has been configured for the selected client. If the client has no configuration, the fields are not shown.

Field Description
In Budget A Yes / No indicator of whether the request falls within the client's budget.
Whitespace Opportunity ID A 6-digit numeric identifier, displayed with an OPP- prefix (for example, OPP-000123), that ties the request back to a specific whitespace opportunity.
Fiscal Year The fiscal year associated with the opportunity, for time-bound GP reporting.
Note:
These fields are visible by default to an MSP Admin or SysAdmin. This fields can restrict or block them for specific clients — see Whitespace Tracking Configuration.

Who can see the fields

Visibility is limited to users belonging to the Magnit MSP organization who are also assigned to the client on the request. Client managers, workers, suppliers, and users from other (third-party) MSP organizations never see these fields, regardless of client configuration.

Where the fields appear

The fields appear in the Financials section across the following pages:

  • Request Create — fields appear when the selected work location and requisition type match an active rule in the client's Whitespace GP Tracking configuration. They update automatically if the work location is changed.
  • Request detail — fields are editable while the request is open. They become read-only when the request status is Closed, Filled, or Cancelled.
  • Engagement detail — fields carry over from the originating request and remain editable on the engagement, so GP tracking data can be maintained throughout the life of the placement.

Business rules

Field Rule
In Budget Selecting No makes Whitespace Opportunity ID and Fiscal Year required. Selecting Yes leaves those two fields optional.
Whitespace Opportunity ID Accepts up to 6 digits. The OPP- prefix is added automatically and is not typed by the user.
Fiscal Year The dropdown always lists the current year through five years forward. A previously saved value outside that range is still shown for that record.
