Add Local Tax Rates

You can define a local tax rate that is applied to services in the postal code/city/town of a state/province.

There are two tax rate definitions in this area, local tax and the VAT tax rate for the state/province. If you do not enable local rates, when VAT tax is calculated in the VMS or manually, the VAT tax rate is used. If enabled, the VAT tax rate for the postal code where the services were performed is used.

  1. Navigate to the Configuration view in the MSP view.
  2. Toggle the Enable Local Tax Rates switch.
  3. Click the Add Postal Code button.
  4. In the Postal Code field, enter the postal code for the local rate.
  5. In the City/Town field, enter the name of the city or town of the local tax rate.
  6. In the VAT field, enter the VAT tax rate for the postal code/city/town.
