Batch Billing Approval Workflow

You can set up a batch approval for billing items with estimated taxes for the total. This gives you the advantage of viewing the potential tax amount before the billing items are invoiced to a client organization.
Note: Taxes are only estimated at the time of the batch creation. Amount can change during the locking/tax calculate process. For more information about this process, see Finalize an Invoice.

The batch approvals are routed though the Manager view. Approvers can either approve the entire amount, or reject the entire amount. To isolate billing items for review, or to remove items from the batch, you can run the 'Approval Batch Billing Export' report, or download the report form the approval page. Once identified, notify an MSP with the 'Billing' permission to flag the item, or mark it 'Non-Billable'.

The batch process considers any type of billing item, for any engagement type configured for a client organization. You must add batch settings to each engagement for billing items to be considered. For more information about these settings, see Configure Batch Settings on an Engagement.

Ensure that you have tax rates for the location state/country set up for the client organization. Also ensure that you have an invoice option defined with the Tax Estimation Batch Approval setting enabled. For more information about running batch approval, see Batch Approval.
