Value Active/Inactive Dates

The Active and Inactive date fields in a custom field reference list drive the availability of the value for selection. A field can be made active or inactive at the list level, or by using an I/O integration. Time can be allocated using these fields on a timecard, and can be configured by any user type with the correct permissions.
Note:
Currently this logic only applies to non-Period type timecards.
It is important to note the following for lists applied to Billing custom fields:
  • If a list value does not have a date in the Active or Inactive fields, it is available for selection.
  • If a list value has a date in the Inactive field, but not in the Active field, then the value is available on work dates before the inactive date, but not on the inactive date, or after the inactive date.
  • If a list value has both dates, with ActiveInactive, then the value is available on work dates on or after the active date, and before (not on) the inactive date.
  • If the list value has both dates blank, or Active > Inactive, then the value is available on work dates after the active date.
  • Rebills can be created with an inactive allocation.
  • Managers can approve time & expenses can allocated to inactive values.
