Project Engagements in the Application

After the client manager or the MSP for the request accepts a quote, the application creates a project engagement.
Note: Project details in the quote must be configured before setting up project engagement details. These details include worker positions and rates, materials definitions, and milestone dates and rates. The details in the quotes might affect which engagement details that you can configure, for example, if you set up timecard details for a worker position, you cannot define timecard details at the project level.

The engagement has the same request record details, but also contains additional financial details, and onboarding/offboarding configured for the client organization. This information is set by the MSP. The engagement does not start until the MSP edits and confirms the details.

These parameters are used to define how the supplier enters time for the engagement (time cards), and the billing definitions for overtime, and so on. The engagement billing information is added based on the details defined in the request. If you need to modify these numbers because of a business need, you can edit the engagement fields.

The Budget section of the project Details section tracks any spend for the project.

You add workers to a project request for tracking. You can add the workers, or you can set a permission that allows the supplier associated with the engagement to add workers. For more information about adding workers, see the following:

A Tax Location section is added to the Position Details section when the Tax Calculation method (at the invoice option level) defined for the engagement is set to 'Wand' or 'Manual', or if the Tax Estimation Batch Approval setting on the invoice option is enabled. The Tax Location specifies the tax rates for the engagement. If you edit this section, you can change the location by selecting the Override Tax Location check box and use the drop downs to select the new location (required) and additionally enter the location postal code.

If you are using a batch billing approval process to estimate taxes and approve total amounts, configure the details on the engagement Batch Billing tab. For more information about setting up these details, see Configure Batch Settings on an Engagement.
