Time Entry Settings

The application uses time entries (from time cards) to create billing item details that you then process at a given time and send to a client or a supplier as an invoice. The application also uses a defined work period (schedule) to determine how the time card entries are applied. This schedule is tied to the worker pay period. If a worker gets paid every week, then the work period defined would be weekly, with entries for each week, processed at the end of the week.

The schedule can be a defined length of time, or it can be specific range of dates. For example, for a length of time can be (week) Monday through Sunday, and a calendar can be (week) February 16, 2020 (Sunday) through February 22, 2020 (Saturday). The application also uses templates (hourly, weekly, variable, and so on) that are available for activation for a client organization, based on business need. For more information about the time card templates, see Time Card Types.

Along with the defined work period, you can define how fees are applied for time card entries. For more information about fees, see Fees and Rebate Process.

The application can adjust the billing by applying a rate to the entry, based on the configuration of the time card. For more information about work schedule configuration, see Work Periods and Calendars.

The application can be configured to not only accept time card entries, but to accept entries from external systems. This process involves defining the input source, and then linking the two systems. To set up an external time entry system, contact your program representative.

Note: An invoice is sent to the contract (agreement) owner for the engagement type.
