Time Card Types

Time card types appears for a client organization in Billing > Billing/Invoicing > Time Entry > Timecard UI. You cannot modify these templates, only activate them for a client organization. Timecards use standard groupings of information to calculate billing.
  • Units - The number of hours/days that a worker worked in the work period. Workers enter start and end time for work and lunch breaks.
  • Allocations - Where to allocate the billing. Allocations can impact the billing amount. Allocations are based on regular, over, or double time. Allocated time can be based on a custom field set in a work sequence, department, or percentage of work completed.
  • Custom fields - Custom Fields Options by Workflow.
  • Notes - Any notes added to the timecard or status notes.

Approved time and expense billing is assessed by the system based on the work period configure in the engagement Financials section. The timecard display also display date ranges based on work periods. See Work Periods and Calendars.

You can configure fields information that a worker can select from using billing custom fields. For more information about setting up these fields, see Custom Fields Options by Workflow.

Time card templates allow for various types of time entries, hourly, daily, or mixed. Billing rates are applied to the timecard type depending on the work period definition that is associated with the timecard. See Work Periods and Calendars. You can also configure modifiers for billing rates. For more information about these modifiers, see Rate Application.

To enable a time card type that allows a worker to bill by piece completed, first set up the piece rates, then enable the rates in the Financials section of the request. For more information about configuring piece rates, see Modify the Piece Type Configuration.

Field Description
Hourly 1 Hourly, Labor period/Lunch period, with cost allocation by regular, OT, and DT hours.

This time card type supports leave tracking.

This time card type allows a worker to select the 'Did Not Work' option for a day on their time card. This option is configured on the work period. For more information about enabling this option, see Add a Work Period.

This time card type also supports daily 'Did Not Work' time entries.

Hourly 2 Hourly, Labor period/Lunch period, with cost allocation by sequence of hours worked.
Hourly 3 Hourly, Labor period/Lunch period, with allocation to a custom field.

Hourly 4 Hourly, Labor period, with no allocation.

Daily 1 Daily, Day Worked (blank if not worked), with allocation by percentage of day worked.

Daily 3 Daily, Day Worked (blank if not worked), with no allocation.

Mixed 4 Mixed hourly/daily pay rate, number of hours worked, with no allocation.
Mixed 5 Mixed hourly/daily pay rate, number of hours worked, with allocation to custom fields.
Mixed 6 Mixed hourly/daily pay rate, with allocation by percentage of day spent.
Period 1 Days worked (blank if not worked) for set work period, with allocation by percentage of period spent.

Period 2 Days worked (blank if not worked) for set work period, with allocation to custom fields.
Period 3 Days worked (blank if not worked) for set work period, with no allocation.

Period - OT Hourly, Labor period/Lunch period, with cost allocation by regular, OT, and DT hours.
Project 1 Time worked (blank if not worked) for project, with allocation by percentage of project.
Project 2 Project (No cost allocation, no custom fields).
Units/Piece Rate Number of pieces completed, with no allocation.
