Rate Application
Rate application is how the billing rate is applied to the time entered by the worker. You can configure modifiers on top of the specified billing rate for a requisition. The rate application rules are defined for a work period (hourly, daily, weekly, and so on), and can include various settings that apply. For more information about work periods, see Work Periods and Calendars.
The rate application for time entries is determined by the setting on the requisition
(Duration drop down). These options determine which time card
is displayed to the worker when logging time entries for hours worked. The types of rate
application that you can configure are the following:
- Per Hour - Hourly bill rate multiplied by the number of hours entered during the period. Multipliers using shift differential definitions and overtime rules are configured within the work period. For more information about defining shift differentials, see Shift Differential for an Hourly Work Period.
- Per Day - Daily bill rate multiplied by the number of days entered during the period.
- Daily Tiered - Tiers are used to define shifts with different billing rates, for example, swing shift, graveyard, and so on.
- Daily Prorated - For more information about this type, see Prorated Rates Application.
- Variable Prorated - This is the rate application if thee duration on the request is set to 'Weekly'. For more information about this type, see Prorated Rates Application.
