Client Settings

You can access the Enable Requisition Types table and options in the first section of Configuration page.

Field Description
Enable Requisition Types Enable one or more requisition types to allow the client organization (MSP organization assigned to the client) users and client manager to create a request type.
Note: A client organization must have the request type enabled in order to assign it to a client manager.
  • Staffing - Enable this option to allow authorized users to create Staffing requests. See Staffing Request
  • Payroll - Enable this option to allow authorized users to create Payroll requests. See Payroll Request
  • SOW (WFQ Application) - Enable this setting to use the Workforce Logiq SOW application for project requests. Enabling this setting overrides the Project, Project Worker, and Project BizVal request types and navigates a user to the WFQ application.
  • Project - Enable this option to allow authorized users to create Project requests. For Magnit-affiliated MSP organizations, enabling this request type also enables the Project Business Validation workflow. The workflow is optional. For more information about this validation workflow, see About Project BizVal.
  • Project BizVal - Enable the option in the Manager column to allow client manager to access the manager questionnaire when creating project requests. This option also enables a project business validation request type in the Manager view separate from the Project request type. Note that this is different in that when creating a project with this option, only contractors/1099 with the Supplier Requires Business Validation flag is set on their supplier record appear in the Sourcing section of the request. Also, to set up the workflow, you must enable it for client organizations in the project settings. The workflow can still be triggered for a project request using a setting in the project configuration (Request Completion of MQ and BVA). For more information about triggering questionnaires, see Manage Screening Questionnaires.
  • Project Worker - Enable this option to allow authorized users to create Project Worker engagements for project engagements. You cannot create requests for project workers, only add workers to a project as their own engagements. To use project worker engagements, you must enable the Project request type.
  • Managed Services - Enable this option to allow authorized users to create Managed Services requests. See Managed Services Requests.
Enable Currency Conversion Enable the currency conversion logic for a client/operational unit.

This option converts the currency units in the application to the currency units where the client is located, for example, U.S. dollars to U.K pounds.

Exchange rates for the client organization are configured in the Client Info section. For more information about specifying exchange rates, see Client Information.

In addition to setting up rates, you must also set up the currency for the client organization.

Tip: Before enabling this option, it is recommended that you contact the client organization's Payroll and Billing departments.
SSO Magnit Platform URL If the client organization uses a custom single sign on (SSO) for authentication to access the VMS, you can specify the URL. This URL is used instead of the standard URL in outgoing email communications to users of the client.
Note: If a client uses SSO, it is recommended to work with the IT department to obtain the SSO redirect. Additional configuration might be required.
Allow mid work period changes for staffing engagements Enable this option to allow engagement changes to become effective during the mid work period. This option is used in Effective Date calculations.
OT Rule Association This setting determines how the application applies overtime (OT) rules.
  • Worker - This is the default setting. If you select this option, the application applies the same overtime rule across all engagements associated with the worker.
  • Requisition - If you select this option, a different OT rule is applied per engagement.
Note: If Requisition is selected:
  • You cannot switch the configuration to back to Worker.
  • You must notify the client organization's accounting services about this modification.
Enable Piece Pay Rates Enable this option to allow authorized users to enter piece pay rates in Staffing and Payroll requests.
Enable Multiple Rates Enable this option to allow authorized users to enter multiple rates in Staffing and Payroll requests.

If you enable multi-rates for a client organization, a selection displays (Control <selection> for Staffing Engagements) allowing you to select Bill Rate or Pay Rate (default setting). If you select Bill Rate, an MSP is able to modify the bill rate and the mark up in the Financials section of a Staffing engagement. Modifying either of these fields recalculates the displayed pay rate for the multi-rate base rate. If set to Pay Rate, the MSP cannot edit any of the rate values (pay rate, bill rate, or mark up).

Display Manager Field in Supplier Search UI Enable this option to allow suppliers to search for engagement information by manager name.
Enable Bulk Upload Enable this option to allow authorized users to upload staffing, payroll, or managed service engagements and worker information into the application using .csv files.

This action is performed in the MSP view. For more information about this function, see Bulk Upload.

Send Bulk Upload emails to The email address of the user or mailing group to whom you want to notify of completion of a bulk upload process.

You can configure multiple users to receive the email notification. To accomplish this, add each email address separated by a comma or a semicolon.

Require MSP review of all new Requests Enable this option to send every new request through MSP review and approval before it continues on to the next step in the workflow.
Require User to add attachments during req create Enable one or more request types to require attachments during creation.

Hide req attachments from Suppliers Enable this option to hide any attachments in request/engagements from suppliers.

You can also set the visibility at the file level on a staffing request/engagement (Attachments > Visible to Supplier User. If this setting is enabled ('true'), then the file level setting is disabled by default and cannot be modified.

Hide Reason Detail field from Supplier user View Enable this option to hide the Reason Detail text field in the Supplier view.
Hide Manager Name from Supplier user View on Requests Enable this option to hide the client manager's name from a supplier user in the request information. This setting only hides the name on the request.
Sort Departments By Select the default sort order of departments on the Engagements page.

Allow Client User to Request Direct Supplier Contact Enable one or more request types to allow authorized manager users to be able to access the direct contact information of suppliers assigned to the request type.

Note: This setting is deprecated in the application.
Auto-Close Engagements You can enable the application to automatically close (status='Closed') when the engagement end date is reached. The following settings can be applied:
  • Never - Never close engagements (manual closure only).
  • Always - Always close engagement when the engagement end date is reached.
  • Only If Confirmed Est. End Date - Only close the engagement on the end date if Confirmed Est. End Date='True'. For more information about this setting, see the 'Schedule' section of the relevant request/engagement type
The automatic closure settings are configured for engagement types at the client organization level, or at the operational unit level.
Note: You can configure auto closure for Payroll engagements for client organizations configured for non-Magnit affiliated MSP organizations.
Display pay rate for staffing requisitions to the manager Enable this option to allow authorized users to view the Pay Rate field for Staffing Requests and Engagements. Enter the mark up value percentage in the Default Staffing Mark-Up text box to set the default for use in calculating estimated spend.
Pay Rate Displayed to Supplier Enable to display the pay rate in the Supplier view for staffing requests. The pay rate appears on the Financials section for notified suppliers.
Note: The Display pay rate for staffing requisitions to the manager setting must be enabled to make this option visible.
Payroll Default Mark-Up Enter the markup value percentage for Payroll request types to set as default for use in Cost and Spend estimations only. Default value is 30%.
Note: If you allow the mark-up rate to be overridden at the multi-rate level, and Enable Multiple Rates='Pay Rate', you can modify the bill rate when setting up a multi-rate on an engagement.
Apply Payroll Secondary Mark-Up Enable this option to override the Payroll Default Mark-Up value and use Payroll Secondary Mark-Up value for the specified job category.
Note: If you allow the mark-up rate to be overridden at the multi-rate level, and Enable Multiple Rates='Pay Rate', you can modify the bill rate when setting up a multi-rate on an engagement.
Payroll Secondary Mark-Up Enter the markup value percentage for Payroll request types to use Cost and Spend estimations. Also, enter the Job Category to apply this override value.
Default Mark-up for Staffing cost savings calculations Enter the default value to set for the average/median staffing markup.
Note: If you allow the mark-up rate to be overridden at the multi-rate level, and Enable Multiple Rates='Pay Rate', you can modify the bill rate when setting up a multi-rate on an engagement.
Staffing Default MSP Fee The MSP Fee and used for Cost/Spend Estimation only to provide the client organization with overall cost/spend information.
Job Description Edit Access for MSP and Manager Determines what editing capabilities a user has to modify the job code and job code dependent information (skills, education, and so on) when creating a request.
  • Required-May Edit - The job code is required. Duties, skills, and education fields automatically populate, and are required for request submission. Fields are editable. The MSP can select and edit the job title, where the client manager can only select a preconfigured job title.
    Note: The MSP or client manager can upload a job description file if Talent Network or Match Score is enabled at the OpUnit level.
  • Not Required - The job code is not required, and the job title is selected from a configured list, or free text entry. Duties, skills, and education fields automatically populate, and are not required (blank fields) if submitted by an MSP, but required fields for a client manager. MSPs and client managers can edit the fields before submitting. The client manager can select the job title from a list, or enter as free text. MSPs can select the job title and edit the value, or enter free text.
    Note: The MSP or client manager can upload a job description file if Talent Network or Match Score is enabled at the OpUnit level.
  • Required-May Not Edit Default - The job code is required, and the job title is selected from a configured list. Duties, skills, and education fields automatically populate, and are not required (blank fields) if submitted by an MSP, but required fields for a client manager. MSPs and client managers can append information in these fields before submitting.
  • Required-Cannot Edit - The job code is required. Duties, skills, and education fields automatically populate when creating a request, and are not editable.

Job categories are configured for the client organization at the requisition level, and must be selected when making a request. For more information about defining job categories, see Job Category Configuration.

Job categories are associated with a job title and a job code( both defined in the MRM). For more information about these definitions, see Add a Job Title.

Job Title Edit Access for MSP and Manager on Managed Services Requests Determines what editing permissions the user has for job title dependant information (duties, skills, and education fields) for managed services requests.
  • Free Text Entry - The job title is free text, and the job category is not displayed.
  • Required-May Edit - The job title can be selected from the client catalog or entered as free text. The job category is required.
  • Required-Cannot Edit - The job title must be selected from the client catalog.

If you are using the Bulk Upload process for Managed Services engagements, ensure that you have the correct edit access in order to add job code and category information in the template files.

Job Title Edit Access for MSP and Manager on Project Requests Determines what editing permissions the user has for job title for project requests.
  • Free Text Entry - The job title entry is free text.
  • Required-May Edit - The job title can be selected from the client catalog or entered as free text. The job category is required.
  • Required-Cannot Edit - The job title must be selected from the client catalog.
Display Supplier Bill Rate Displays a Supplier Bill rate field for the MSP to enter. This rate is visible to the supplier as the Bill rate.
Default down fee for supplier bill rate Sets a default down fee for staffing requests. Setting this value calculates the supplier bill rate using the client bill rate.
Display Schedule for Managed Service Requisitions Required for a Fee Process. This is used to validate schedule information and in the related email to forward the schedule information (for example, the start/end date, hours per week/day).
Display Parent Operational Unit for New Engagement If the client organization has multiple operational units, this feature allows the parent organization to be made visible or hidden at the operational unit level.
Note: Magnit Global recommends that you to enable this option if there are no child or secondary operational units defined for the client organization.
Display Parent BizOrg when creating new Request Enable this option to allow a client manager user assigned to a business organization to view the parent organization that the BizOrg is configured for. If visible, the client user is able to create requests for the parent organization.
Display Estimated End Date on worker view Enable this option to allow worker users to view estimated end date for their engagement.
Display Cost Savings for Payroll Displays cost saving to the client manager for a payroll versus a staffing vendor.
Apply Duration Discount to Markup Enable this option to allow markup reduction on engagements for the percentage of duration discount set.
If yes above, Duration Discount % Enter the markup value percentage for duration discount.
Display Full Country List - Offsite Work Location - Staffing Enable this option to list all countries in the Offsite Work Location drop down during staffing request creation process. If not selected, the list of countries in the drop down is limited to the configured countries for the client only.
Display Full Country List - Offsite Work Location - Managed Services Enable this option to list all countries in the Offsite Work Location drop down during managed services request creation process. If not selected, the list of countries in the drop down is limited to the configured countries for the client only.
Onboarding dashboard for managers Enable this option to display the onboarding of worker engagement on the client manager's dashboard.
Limit number of total positions for Managed Services request to 1 Enable this option to limit the number of workers in Managed Services request to only one (1).
Enable DNR validation check for Managed Services Requests Enable to send a submitted worker with DNR set on their worker record to the MSP on the request for review (status='Pending MSP Review'). The MSP user needs to take action for the worker in the Sourcing section of the MS request to accept the worker. For more information about the DNR setting, see Resume.
Enable request creation for workers with different Job Titles for Managed Services Requests Enable to allow a managed services request to be created with different job titles. Each job title, associated with the number of positions, can be entered separately. See Managed Services Requests
Enable request creation without Worker Details for Managed Services Requests Enable to allow a managed services request to be created without worker details. If enabled, the worker grid can be accessed by a supplier/vendor with the 'Headcount Tracking Workers Assignment' permission in the Supplier view, or in the Managed Services request Candidates tab in the MSP view. See Managed Services Requests.
Default Invoice Option For Managed Services Requests Enable to set a default invoice option on Managed Services requests during request creation. If enabled, use the drop down to select a configured MS type invoice option to automatically assign. See Invoice Options for Locations.
Organize Onboarding Templates By Select one of the two values to organize the Onboarding templates
  • by Job Category
  • by OpUnit
Note: If this configuration is modified to a different value, then all existing onboarding templates must be updated in the Country configuration.
Enable Conditional Clearance of Pending Required Onboarding Items Enable this option to allow an MSP to fill an engagement with pending required onboarding items. Items are set to 'Deferred'. The MSP can clear all items before or after the Target End Date on the engagement.
Onboarding dashboard for managers Enable this option to display the onboarding of worker engagement on the client manager's dashboard.
Allow Reuse of Onboarding Items For Returning Workers Enable this option to allow unexpired onboarding items to be reused from past engagements for active engagements. This setting only applies to completed items. You can additionally set the reuse ability at the item level. For more information about on/offboarding items, see On/Offboarding Items.
Hide the "Reuse" button for MSP and VO MSP Users Hides the in the MSP view. This button appears at the bottom of the page for all engagement types.
Enable Glider Enables a Glider integration for a client organization.

Glider is a test platform that allows clients to test candidates during the interviewing process. The platform comes with pre-configured tests based on real world scenarios that can be pre-selected before candidates are interviewed.

If you enable this configuration, you are prompted to enter a token value in the API Authorization Token field. This value is obtained from the Glider.ai platform, and allows the application to integrate with test information.

The integration can be enabled at the client organization level, or the OpUnit level. If enabled at the OpUnit level, test assessment data is only viewable within that OpUnit.

For more information about this integration, contact your Program Representative.
Glider MSP Pass Enables an MSP to pass a candidate that has not completed an assigned Glider assessment. The MSP assigned to the request can click MSP Pass for the candidate (at the candidate level only) to allow the client manager on the request to view candidate details.
Allow candidate and worker personal data anonymization Allows a SysAdmin or MSP Admin user to remove a worker's Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from the system. The worker fields display 'REMOVED'.

You can also configure anonymization to run automatically. This setting must be enabled to configure the automation.

Capture Start Date Change Reason Enable to save the reason that a start date on an engagement (Schedule section) was changed. The original start date is captured in the data base and can be reported on in the Engagement Data Export. See Engagement Data Export.

Enabling this option displays a popup when the start date is changed. Change reasons are configured for a client organization in the Reasons configuration. See Reasons Configuration.

Display On/Offboarding Item Description to Users Allows onboarding and offboarding item description text to be viewable by MSPs (On/Offboarding tab) and suppliers/vendors (Lifecycle tab). The setting allows both user types to view the descriptions.
Enable search by Custom Fields Allows an MSP user to search by request or engagement custom fields using the advance search functionality. See Search Function.

If disabled, the input parameter field does not appear in the search filter options.
